Just had my renewal through
Being an old git with 12 years ncb and having held a licence for over 25 years I needed a seat after reading the quote
£720
Joys of living in multicultural Ilford. if I lived in Manningtree it would be £234 a year

I got auto renewal through and it was £840.
I went on a comparison site and got the same cover, with the same company, offered for £124!
I rung them up and the fella says 'Oh, that's a mistake, I can do it for you for £220'. So I called him a robbing cunt and did it through the comparison company.
Then the silly cunts asked me for proof of no claims, which they already had because it's the same fucking company.
Insurance has to be one of the biggest legal scams going.

Mines about £1200 a year, mind you my girlfriend drives and is only into her second year of doing so and i live in London, and its a 3 litre turbo diesel Audi A5 that goes like shit off a shovel.

Don't think Ilford has much to do with it.
Insurance companies are wildly increasing premiums for existing customersand hope you won't notice or are too lazy to change. The key is to keep changing and be a new customer every year.
Direct Line quoted me £700 for my renewal for my 2 cars, so I got a quote from Churchill which came up at £405 for the 2 on exactly the same cover.
Even more ridiculous as they are basically sister (the same) companies.

The area has a lot to do with it.. I m in Barking and to insure here is £3-400 dearer than having it insured in Watford where I was insured at my ex's and now Grays..
A3 in Barking £880 in Grays £540
Not a single change apart from the postcode.

Premiums will be going up again in November due to the recent budget. Osborne has decided to put IPT up from 6% to 9.5%!

Was quoted around 500 for my renewal.. Shopped around and found the same sort of cover with breakdown for around 200.. Phoned up insurance company, and got the same cover, with a better breakdown cover for about 230...
Fuck knows where they get their renewal prices from...

I've done the go compare/compare the market route and got it done to 702 if I have a box fitted
Address is everything. I live in IG1 . if I was 5 doors down I woke be in IG3 and that would save me 40 quid.

I live in Ilford (Barkingside) £580 fully comp and NCB protected.
Renewals are always much higher then the first year in my experience, so I end up just switching every year using Meerkat etc...
Also every time I've moved address last few years it's gone up so I must be moving to shitter and shitter areas, right?
